Welcome to the website of the German Embassy in Kabul!
Afghanistan and Germany have a trustful partnership. In the past years, Afghanistan has played a major role in Germany’s public interest. German development workers, policemen and –women, teachers and soldiers work in close collaboration with their Afghan partners to help rebuilding this country after the fall of the Taleban.
Many Afghan high school and university students learn German and are interested in German history and current affairs. In times of distress, thousands of Afghans found refuge and a new home in Germany. At the same time, they always kept and still keep close links to their country of origin. These shared experiences unite the two nations.
Afghanistan and Germany look back on a relationship that is much older than the tragic conflicts in Afghanistan in the past decades. It was already in the 1920th when the two countries developed cultural, political and economic relations.
The German Embassy in Kabul works hard to further strengthen this partnership. On our website we would like to give you an impression of our activities and provide you with useful information and ways to contact us.
